Neasden Control Centre

Earlier this week i was invited to join in a workshop following a lecture from Steve Smith (Neasden Control Centre). It was great to be invited to take part as i've been a big fan of his work for a while and wrote part of my dissertation on him last year. We were paired with a student from the illustration course and given a random phrase, these later turned out to be dog's names from the racing post, and were then asked to create our own reactions to the phrase. It was a great experience seeing how someone from another course works and Ruth the girl i was paired with and i played quite well off one another. Our dog's name was Cold Turkey and we decided to create a stop frame animation to illustrate this. We were really pleased with our final outcome and Steve commented he thought it was excellent, i'll post a link once i get hold of the file. It was great to see how his mind works and where he gains a lot of his inspiration from.
